SUPPORTING THE CLIENT'S GOALS

Client Profile

Mid-size, privately owned architecture and engineering firm with two offices in Washington state.

Business Objectives

Installing a new software to replace aged out infrastructure and network solutions.

Solution

Server High Availability, Disaster Recovery Planning, Network Infrastructure upgrades.

The Challenge

Integrus Architecture had come to the position in which its network infrastructure had come to end of life. Having used HEO Tech for smaller projects in the past, Integrus Architecture sought out HEO Tech’s expertise in upgrading to a new system. A decision had already been decided on a new software solution. The leading drivers for the decision were based on familiarity, prior experience, as well as lower cost format. HEO Tech employees did not have prior experience using this product, but diligently sought out the knowledge necessary to properly format and install the new solution.

The Solution

HEO Tech employees partnered with Integrus Architecture on execution of the software

that was already decided upon, with regards to the network, and diligently educated

themselves with the knowledge necessary for a successful integration. HEO Tech aligned

with the other company, procured hardware, and prepared requirements for proper

implementation within Integrus Architecture’s infrastructure. HEO Tech partnered with

the other vendors to make the solution as seamless as possible. In consulting with

Integrus Architecture regarding the new upgrades to the network infrastructure, HEO Tech uncovered some other needed upgrades to provide Integrus with safer and more secure information technology. HEO Tech replaced an aging, unlicensed firewall with a Fortinet solution at both offices, replaced the core switching at both locations with a redundant, security focused product that gives better control over network segmentation, replaced the aging VPN client with a more secure solution, and built out dynamic DNS to present users with a redundant, best option for outside services.

The Results

Integrus Architecture was pleased with HEO Tech’s openness to work with whatever technology they, the client, wanted. In addition, HEO Tech’s ability to optimize the solution, save Integrus Architecture money, and ensure a high quality outcome made for a successful process and end result. Despite the complexity of the implementation, HEO Tech overcame the challenges that arose. HEO Tech staff was very attentive during the process. As HEO Tech finished up the network infrastructure upgrades, Integrus Architecture has also hired them to zone off sensitive information on the firewall, including granular control over whom can access, is building out a dynamic routing protocol between Seattle and Spokane for WAN redundancy company-wide, and is adding VRF segmentation on a per service basis, letting the firewall chose which devices can communicate with one another. All of these items will provide a safer and more secure network, providing Integrus Architecture peace of mind that the company’s vital information is protected in the case of disaster.
